Through my experience studying and tutoring both privately and at UTas I've found that it often
isn't the content that gets in the way of students performing well in exams, it's exam technique.
When I say exam technique I mean 2 things.
- How the student approaches the problem solving element of the question
- How the student mentally approaches the question
I have taken a great interest in what it takes, mentally, to perform at your best and how top performers, from athletes to musicians ensure that they deliver under pressure.
The final session of the course will explore topics such as.
- How does my mindset affect my exam performance and why?
- Why are some people confident and some aren't?
- How can I change how confident I am?
- What's the best way to prepare for an exam?
Students should leave the final session feeling confident that in a test situation they can make the most of the skills and knowledge that they have gained throughout the course.
