This episode we’re speaking with Steve Capp,
Steven is the former Principal of Bentleigh West Primary School and current Principal of Chelsea Heights Primary School in Melbourne. He has worked across the primary and secondary school sectors as an educational leader for the past 16 years. He has a Masters of School Leadership from Melbourne University and has worked with schools and across Australia in bridging the gap from research to practice. He served on the expert advisory panel to the Federal Government for Year 1 Literacy and Numeracy Checks in 2017.
The reason I wanted to have Steve cap on the ERRR podcast is because I have personally seen the high impact that his work has had and the work of his team at Bentley West and more recently, at Chelsea Heights. Steve has now turned around two schools and is getting phenomenal results, and Bentley West has gone on to become a legendary school in terms of high impact and high achieving schools here in Australia. As such, the opportunity to chat with a principal who's really done it, really turned around at school, and done it in two instances, was too good to pass up!
in this episode, Steve and I go deep into the main things that Steve has learned, and I really appreciate just how down to earth Steve is and how much wisdom he has about effective school leadership.
